Easy Steps to Gain Weight!

Gaining weight for whatever the reason is not a simple task. It takes time and dedication. However there are ways that you can improve and speed up your weight gain.

Calories
Make sure that you count every calorie you intake. Remember that weight lose results in your burning off more calories than you consume. So counting the calories and monitoring this is vital in weight gain.

Eat!
Of course we get our calories from the food we eat! It is no good starving ourselves if we are looking to gain weight. You need to look at what you are eating and make sure you eat regular. They recommend that you eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and 6 other small meals a day – at regular intervals! The best foods to eat are steak, chicken, milk and vegetables. Have at least 4 glasses of milk a day and 6 pieces of fruit a day!

Weight Lifting!
Try working out a minimum for 4 times a week. This means that you can ensure the weight you gain is muscle and not fat. Make sure that you do the lifting correctly. Start slow and add weights each work out until you have built yourself up!

Weigh yourself.
Pick a day each week and use this as your weigh in day. Don’t expect miracles but you will notice each week that you have gained. They recommend around 2 pounds a week to ensure that the weight you gain is not just fat. This might not seem much but can add up to 8 pounds each and every month! Your body will get used to the amount you eat and you will notice your weight gain slows down. When you notice this add an extra 250 calories a day to your diet and you will start to gain weight again

Watch the fat
Quite simply – don’t eat any bad fats! This means cut out any fried foods from your diets and avoid fast food restaurants. High protein low fat foods like tuna, chicken/turkey fruits and vegetables etc are the best foods to eat

Drink Water
You should aim to drink at least half a gallon of whatever each day. This may seem like a huge amount to drink but you need it for energy and to stop you becoming dehydrated.

Sleep
We all know regular sleep is vital to a healthy lifestyle and this is no difference in this case. If you are tired and lethargic you will be unable to do the exercises you need, so sleep is vital.
